Shootout Loss!

The Bruins final action of the 2010 season was tonight at Riverside Arena. The Bruins faced off against the Owatonna Express. The last time the Express was at Riverside the Bruins won 5-1. The Bruins are coming into action fresh off a victory against the Coulee Region Chill, while the Express is coming off a win against the Aberdeen Wings.  The first period the Express scored as Willie Faust pumped in a goal, assisting on the tally was Ben Persian and Chris Bournazos. The Express added one more goal before the end of the second period as Ben Persian gave the Express a 2-0 lead after two periods. The Bruins came out in the second period with a chip on their shoulder. The Bruins killed a five minute penalty and that gave the Bruins the momentum as they got on the board next. Austin Bruins captain Connor Quinn pumped in a rebound from Jack Walsh. The Bruins continued the momentum as Chase McDonald muscled one to the slot and pumped it in. The Bruins hit the dressing room tied 2-2. The final frame was quite the battle as both teams were unable to score. During regulation Eamon Macadam stopped 30 pucks. Charles Williams had 39 for the Express. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. The overtime ended in at tie. The Express ended uo getting the lone goal in the shootout and win 3-2. Tomorrow night the Bruins kick off the 2011 season in Alexandria. The puck drops at 7:30 tune into Fasthockey.com for live play by play.
