The North American Hockey League announced on Wednesday that two Bruins have received Central Division Awards.

Forward Jade Miller has been named the Central Division Forward of the Year, as well as the recipient of the NAHL leadership award. The Bruins captain led the team in goals during the regular season with 29 – just one shy of the single-season Bruins record. He’s leading the league in postseason points with nine (three goals, six assists).

Miller, a native of Minto, North Dakota recently announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth starting next season. In addition to his two awards, Miller is the lone Austin representative on the all-Central Division team.

Kris Carlson has been named the NAHL’s Central Division "Academic Achievement Award" winner. The Bruins starting goaltender ranked top five in minutes played and saves among all NAHL backstops, and was third in the league with four shutouts. The Centerville, Virginia native won both games for the Central Division Team at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in February in Plymouth, Michigan and is a three-time Central Division First Star of the Week in 2015-16.
