In the hole: Bruins fall down 0-2 in Central Finals

Apr 30, 2016

BISMARCK ND – In Friday's game one, it was early period goals that victimized the Bruins. On Saturday in game two, it was late period tallies that did them in, as the Bobcats claimed a 4-1 win and a 2-0 series lead.

Tobias Fladeby scored with just 1:33 remaining in the opening period to break the seal, coming off the bench and despositing a cross ice pace from Cole Souto. In the 2nd, just after an Austin Rueschhoff cross bar hit, Travis Wood's intended pass found its way past Carlson for a 2-0 Bismarck edge. Although Travis Kothenbeutel would "use his head" to scored for the Bruins with just over six minutes to go, Jared Pike's powerplay goal in the final seconds firmly kept the momentum on Bismarck's side.

Willie Brown added insurance in the 3rd, and the lead was more than enough for Hunter Shepard, who stopped 25 of 26. Kris Carlson made 26 saves in the losing effort. The Bruins will face elimination in game 3 at home on Friday night at 7:05. Tickets can be purchased at Hy Vee, Jim's Marketplace, Games People Play, and the Holiday Inn Austin. Unused tickets from round one will also be accepted.
