RICHFIELD, MN – Will Ulrich made 40 saves while the Magicians scored single goals in the first and third periods as they edges the Bruins 2-1 on Saturday night at Richfield Ice Arena. The Magicians improved to 5-1-0 against the Bruins in the 2015-16 head to head series.
Michael Wilson scored the only goal of the first period at 8:40 when Casey Jerry fed him a puck through the goal crease and behind Kris Carlson. The Magicians held a 19-5 shot advantage at the end of one. The Bruins countered with a 20-9 shot edge in the 2nd period, but couldn't solve Ulrich and continued to trail 1-0 through two periods.
Tyler Bump scored early in the 3rd to make it 2-0 until the Bruins finally got on the board with only 19 seconds to go when AJ Drobot deflected a Jacob Paganelli pass home. Carlson made 35 saves in the loss. The Bruins and Magicians play for a third time in a six day span on Wednesday at Riverside Arena at 7:05.
