Bruins Win at Runestone!!

The Austin Bruins were back in action against the Alexandria Blizzard at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria Minnesota. The Bruins started the production courtesy of John Kirby, the Austin native cruised in on a breakaway and went top cheese on Jake Myers. Chase McDonald was credited with the assist. The Bruins played a very physical first frame. At the first intermission the Bruins lead 1-0. The second period the Bruins continued to pour on the intensity. Illya Arkalov scored his first goal of his North American Hockey League career making it 2-0 Bruins. Next it was the newest member of the Bruins, Joe Siers as he also added the first goal of his NAHL career.  Assisting was Brandon Wahlin and John Simonson.  At the end of two periods of play the Bruins had a 3-0 lead. The final frame the Blizzard squeezed one past Tyler Bruggeman making it a two goal game. Christian Folin added one more with an empty net. The Bruins won 4-1.
