Bruins Win 6-3

The Austin Bruins were back in action to take on the Coulee Region Chill in Onalaska Wisconsin. Austin took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Brandon Wahlin assisting was John Simsonson. Coulee answered back on an odd man rush to even the score at one. At the end of the first period shots were even at 16 apiece. The second period Coulee took a 2-1 lead with a goal from Andy Faust. Austin was able to tie the contest at two with a goal from Scotty Nelson assisting was Cody Dixon. Austin regained their lead with a Power Play goal from CJ Smith, assisting was Joe Caprio. Coulee was able to counter again to make it a 3-3 score. At the end of two periods of play the score was 3-3. The third period Austin improved the specialty team’s numbers as they killed off a 4:00 minute penalty. Austin then added a Power Play goal from John Simonson assisting was Cody Dixon and Brandon Wahlin. The Bruins took a two goal lead with a goal from AJ Reid assists went to Jay Dickman and Nate Mondry. Later in the third period Brandon Wahlin was tripped on a breakaway. Wahlin was awarded with a penalty shot as he beat Devon Kero. The Bruins bounce back with a great third period to win 6-3. Austin is back at home next weekend to battle the Brookings Blizzard.
