Bruins take one on the chin!

Bruins lose 6-3

The Austin Bruins kicked off the weekend at Riverside arena as they faced off against the Owatonna Express. Last weekend the Bruins were in Owatonna and split the weekend series at a game apiece. The first period the Bruins peppered Brock Kautz with 17 shots adding one goal from James Dickinson.  The Express answered with a couple of goals to take the lead 2-1 at the end of the first period. The second period the Bruins continued to get their chances as they controlled play the majority of the period. After two periods of play the Bruins hurled 28 shots on Goaltender Brock Kautz. The Express had 19 shots on Alex Cantrell after two periods of play. After two periods of play the Express led 2-1. The Bruins started the third period with a bang as they notched it up at two with a goal from Matt Pilot. It was Matt Pilots first goal of the season. Ben Persian then pumped in the third goal of the night, which gave Owatonna the lead 3-2.Tying the game up again for the Bruins was Trevor Waldoch as he rifled one from the point assisting on the goal was Mike Fazio and Matt Pilot. The Express then took advantage of a power play and scored one more time giving the Express the final lead of the night. The Express added a couple more with an empty net, with less than a couple minutes remaining. Saturday night the Bruins continue their home stand as they face off against the Express tomorrow night at Riverside Arena at 7:00.
