Bruins Sweep the Blizz

The Austin Bruins were back on the ice in Brookings South Dakota to battle the Blizzard. Austin entered the contest with an impressive record of 7-0-1 against Brookings this season. The first period the Bruins scored with great puck movement by t Cody Dixon and Jay Dickman as they set up John Simonson. At the end of one period of play the shots were 7-7 and Austin led 1-0. The Second period the Bruins scored a huge Power Play as Riley Colvard scored on a rush, assisting was Josh Bretner and goaltender Jason Pawloski. The B’s added another Power Play goal from John Simonson as Cody Dixon recorded the lone assist. At the end of two periods Austin led 3-0. The final frame John Simsonson dangled past the Brookings defense and set up CJ Smith. Brookings added their firs of the night with a goal from Tyler Cayemberg. Austin took a 5-1 lead as the big Jay Dickman, assisting was Josh Bretner and Jake Flynn. Brookings got some momentum back and score their second of the evening. Nolan Kirley than fought Aiden Cavalinni, Cavalinni was ejected as he continued fighting after the fight ended. Austin scored their sixth goal as CJ Smith twisted the dagger. Austin completes the sweep with a 6-2 win. The B’s are at home next weekend to lock it up with the Chill from Coulee Region Wisconsin. You can watch the Broadcast at Fast Hockey.com.
