The Austin Bruins continued their home series this Saturday night against the Alexandria blizzard. On Friday night the Bruins stormed back and scored three unanswered goals to pick up a 3-2 victory. The Bruins came into action winning three of four games against Alexandria this season. The opening frame from southern Minnesota was an excellent pace. Christian Folin set up Mike Adomowicz in front of the net as he dented the twine, Trevor Waldoch also had an assist on the goal. Mike Adomowicz added one more as John Kirby and Chase Macdonald had assists. With the lead 2-0 Bruins, Trevor Waldoch weaved one in from the blue line; assists went to Cody Hotchkin and John Kirby. At the end of the first period the Bruins lead the Blizzard 3-0. The second frame from Riverside Arena was back and forth as the Bruins continued to pressure the Blizzard. Chase Macdonald scored on a wrap around making it 4-0 Bruins, assisting on the goal was John Kirby. Back to back fights broke out at center ice as Connor Quinn went in the first fight against Rock Einerson. Next it was the Austin native John Kirby who spared with Vadim Gyesbreghs, one punch and Kirby was victorious. The Bruins got one more as they went tic tac toe down low. Scoring on the play was Alex Tesesnky assists went to Jordan Greenberg and John Gerht. The Bruins had the lead 5-0 at the second intermission. The final frame was much like the first two. Chase Macdonald scored his second goal, assisting on the tally was Chris Fischer and John Kirby making it 6-0 Bruins. The Blizzard than added their first of the night from Jordan Nelson, assisting was Mike Krieg and Nardo Nagtzaam. The Bruins added one more from Jeremy Finger assisting on the goal was Mike Adomowicz and Chased Macdonald. The Bruins go on to sweep the Blizzard and win the matchup tonight 7-1. The Bruins will play at Riverside next Thursday as they will face off against the Aberdeen Wings.
