Bruins Stomp Bismarck

The Austin Bruins wrapped up play against the Bismarck Bobcats this Saturday night at Riverside Arena. Period number one was action packed as expected. Cody Dixon started the scoring for the second straight night. The power play was created by Brandon Wahlin and AJ Reid as they tallied assists. At the end of two periods of play Austin and Bismarck both had 14 shots. The second period Austin scored a shorthanded goal from CJ Smith. Bismarck scored a goal with just a couple of minutes left in the second to cut the lead in half. After two periods of play Austin led 2-1 after being outshot 29-21. The third period Austin was able to kill off its 10thpenalty. Austin was able to take a 3-1 lead with a power play goal from Josh Bretner assisting was Chris Fischer. The Bruins added another from Scott Nelson as they led 4-1. Bismarck was able to net their second of the night with just 14 seconds on the clock. It was not enough as the Bruins won 4-2 for their 5th winin a row. The Bruins hit the road next weekend to travel to Bismarck North Dakota to play a two game set.
