Bruins Go Bird Hunting

The Austin Bruins continued their six game road trip as they battled the Wings of Aberdeen South Dakota. The first period from the Odde Center was a great pace that featured back and forth action. Austin’s Brandon Wahlin got the first goal directly off a faceoff, AJ Reid was credited with the helper. The Wings were able to even the score at one goal a piece off of a scrum in front of the net. At the end of one period of play the score was 1-1. The second period Aberdeen took a 2-1 lead on the power play. The Wings scored another to take 3-1 lead moments later. The next face off Mike Parnell fought Mike Bond as the crowd went crazy. Neither team was able to capitalize off the fight.  At the end of two periods Aberdeen led 3-1. The third period Jay Dickman and Brandon Wahlin set up John Simonson to cut the lead in half.  Cody Dixon tied the game as he took a pass from Easton Viitala and Nolan Kirley. Austin took a 4-3 lead on the power play as Jay Dickman was set up by John Simonson and Brandon Wahlin. The Wings got a couple chances late on the power play but the Dcore of the Bruins stayed strong. The Bruins staged a magnificent comeback with the 4-3 victory.
