Bruins finish off Wings!

The Austin Bruins continued their weekend series against the Aberdeen Wings on Saturday night at Riverside Arena. On Friday night the Bruins skated to a 2-0 victory as Keegan Asmundson earned a shutout. The Bruins come into action with a home record of 6-7-3. The Bruins have bested the Wings in the previous three meetings. The opening frame from Riverside Arena was jam packed as the Bruins got on the board first. Mike Adomowicz scored for the Bruins and Christian Folin and Trevor Waldoch was credited with the assists. The Bruins got one more from the Austin native John Kirby as he tipped a shot that came from Christian Folin, Mike Adomowicz was credited with an assist. The Wings answered back as Blaik Doornbos jammed it past Keegan Asmundson. At the first intermission the Bruins had the lead 2-1. The middle frame was action packed as well the Wings picked up a power play goal from Corey Ward. Assists went to Louis Educate and Taylor Richart. The Bruins though two periods had a total of 30 shots; Aberdeen had 19 shots after two periods of play. The final frame from Riverside a back and forth battle. The Bruins picked up one more goal from Jeremy Finger assisting on the goal was Trevor Waldoch and Jadin Martin. The Bruins go on to sweep the Wings for their first home sweep of the year.
