Bruins fall to Chill at Riverside

AUSTIN, MN – Six different Chill players scored, while Matiss Kivlenieks made 32 saves and Coulee Region defeated the Bruins, 6-2 on Friday night at Riverside Arena in the first of a home-and home.

Leading point scorer Michael Wilson put the Chill up 1-0 at 6:17 of the first, putting home a rebound after Kris Carlson stopped Isaac Theisen. The Bruins tied the score at 11:30 when Luke Forfar deflected a John Pesek shot past Kivlenieks. Dawson DiPietro added a secondary assists. Coulee Region's Taylor Trapp and Caleb Schroer both scored before the end of the period and it was 3-1 Chill at the end of one period.

Austin Rueschhoff tapped a Jan Stefka bad angle shot accorss the goal line at 16:18 of period 2 to bring the deficit back to one but Dominik Florian would net one with just eight seconds left in the frame to restore the two goal Chill lead.

In the 3rd, Theisen and Aussie Miller each scored with less than seven minutes to play to put the game away. Carlson made 32 saves in the losing effort. Kivlenieks notched his 2nd win of the season. The Bruins and Chill will finish the weekend at Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse at 7:00 on Saturday night. The Bruins broadcast begin at 6:50 on FASTHockey.com.
