ABERDEEN, SD – Overtime hasn't been agreeing with the Bruins lately. They lost their third consecutive game in the extra session on Saturday night at Odde Ice Center, after rallying back from a thee goal deficit.

After a scoreless first period, the Wings got back to back powerplay goals at 1:28 and 8:18 of the 2nd. Tucker DeYoung deflected Tanner Okeson's long shot past Kris Carlson for the first goal and Hammer took a nice feed from Okeson for the second. Just 1:10 after the second goal, the Wings struck shorthanded when Colin Raver stole te puck from Marcus Karlstrom and broke in alone on Carlson, who stopped him once before Raver put in the rebound. It was Aberdeen's first shorthanded goal of the season. The Bruins called timeout and replaced Carlson with Robbie Goor, who'd play well the rest of the way. Justin Misiak scored a powerplay goal at 14:52, crashing the net and burying a rebound from a Charlie Spetz shot. Michael Piehler added the secondary assist. The Wings led 3-1 at the end of two periods.

Zach Kennedy got the Bruins within a goal at 6:39 of the 3rd when he took a Jacob Paganelli pass up the right wing and backhanded a shot past Peter Thome. A little over two minutes later, Austin Rueschhoff tied it up, stealing the puck from Wings defenseman Ryan Cook and depositing a blocked pass that came right back to his stick. The Bruins were in penalty trouble all night (9 total times shorthanded) and killed off several to force overtime.

Similarly to Saturday night in La Crosse, OT didn't last long as Matt Pulver ended the game just 17 seconds in. Jacob Paganelli tried to center a pass to Evan Cholak from behind the Wings net, leading to a two on one with Cook and Pulver. Cook flipped a pass over to Pulver who backhanded the game winner past Goor. Thome made 30 saves in the win, Goor stopped 20 of 21 in the ultimate "tough luck loss." The Bruins and Wings finish the weekend series on Saturday night at 7:15 from Odde Ice Center.
