Bruins Drop First in Division

The Austin Bruins got back on the bus and traveled to Bismarck North Dakota to take on the first place Bismarck Bobcats.  The Cats started the scoring in the first frame as Castan Sommer found the back of the net. Bismarck added another on the power play from Patrick Moore. The Bruins were outshot in the first period 18-14 and trailed 2-0.The Bruins came out strong in the second getting a couple opportunities early in the second period. The Bobcats slid another past Tyler Bruggeman making it a 3-0 lead for the bobcats. The final minutes in the third period the Bruins controlled the pace. Colton Kramer banged one in getting Austin on the board in the second assists went to John Simonson and Trevor Waldoch. After two periods of play the Bruins trailed the Bobcats 3-1. Goaltender Tommy Burke was peppered later in the contest, as the Bruins controlled play in the final moments. The Bruins finished the contest with 31 shots on net. The Bobcats picked up the victory 3-1. Tomorrow night the Bruins will continue the hunt in Bismarck North Dakota.
