Bruins DERAIL Express!!

The Bruins continued action in the early 2011 season this Friday night as they battled the cross-town rival Owatonna Express. Coming into action the Express have continued rack up the wins. The Express enter the weekend without a regulation loss on the New Year.  The Bruins enter the weekend coming off a split with the defending Robertson Cup champion Bismarck Bobcats. Also the rosters for the Top Prospects tournament were just released early this week. Congratulations to Charlie Adams and Christian Folin who will be representing the Central Division. The opening frame from Riverside Arena was jam packed as the Bruins picked up a goal halfway through the period.  Charlie Adams set up Cory Ellis in front of the net and Ellis went five hole giving the Bruins the 1-0 lead. The Bruins came out in the second period and continued were they left off in the first. The Bruins added a power play goal from Sam Olson, assisting on the play was Trevor Waldoch and Charlie Adams. At the second intermission the Bruins had the lead 2-0, they also led in shots 33-15. The final frame from Riverside was much of the same as both teams continued to battle. At the end of regulation AJ Underwood had 21 saves in his first start in the North American Hockey League. The Bruins pick up the victory over the 1st place team in the Central Division. The Bruins will continue the series tomorrow night against the Express at Four Season Complex in Owatonna. The game is slated for 7:00 and games can be heard on Fast Hockey.com that’s Fast Hockey.com.
