The Austin Bruins kicked off a home series against the first place Bismarck Bobcats. Bismarck took an early lead 1-0 in the first period. The Cats made it a 2-0 lead on the power play moments later. At the first intermission the Bruins were outshot 11-7. The second period the Bobcats continued to control play. At the end of two periods of play Austin was trailing 4-0 and was outshot 15-14. The third period the Bruins came out with some momentum as Chris Fischer was set up by Nolan Kirley and Connor Quinn. The Bobcats were able to pump in a couple more in the third period making it a 6-1 lead. The final was 6-1 Bismarck.
