Bruins Beat Chill

The Austin Bruins were back in action at Riverside Arena for a rare Wednesday game against the Coulee Region Chill. The Bruins started the production early on the power play as Matt Hansen set up Jonathan Gehrt and AJ Reid giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Bruins added their second of the battle when CJ Smith pumped in a rebound assists went to Matt Hansen and Austin Nelson. The Bruins than made it a three goal game on the power play when AJ Reid blasted one from the point assisting was Brandon Wahlin and Jonathan Gehrt. Coulee Region added one late in the third period from Ben Jaremko. At the end of the first intermission the Bruins led 3-1 and outshot the Chill 17-12. The second period John Kirby fought Ben Jaremko, Kirby got the most punches in was Kirby. The Chill built some momentum off the fight and made it a one goal game. At the end of two periods of play Austin led 3-1 and was outshot 25-24. The third period the Bruins added some insurance as John Simonson banged one in making it a 4-2 victory for Austin. The Bruins will not play until the 27thagainst the Bismarck Bobcats.
