BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Wilkins shines in WJAC

Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) finished the World Junior A Challenge in Ontario, Canada with a goal and 5 assists in 6 games for Team USA. Wilkins was named the player of the game in the 7-1 win over Switzerland in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday. The Americans placed third overall, defeating Canada East in the bronze medal game after losing to Russia in the semifinals.

Evan Smith (Bruins ’14-15) got his first WHL win of the season, making 27 saves in Saskatoon’s 5-3 win over Kelowna on Saturday night. Smith was just acquired from Victoria last week but had been playing for Sioux City in the USHL.

J.C. MacLean (Bruins ’14-15) scored for his 2nd game in a row as Omaha fell to Des Moines, 6-4 on Friday night. The same night, Jake Kielly made 29 stops for his 6th win to help Tri City knock off Sioux City, 3-2. Trey Dodd (Bruins ’13-15) had an assist for Dubuque as they knocked off the US NDTP, 5-1 on Saturday.
