Bruins Alumni Report: Smith Cracks Top 10 in Scoring

NCAA DI: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) netted a pair of goals Friday and then contributed an assist on Saturday as the #5 ranked UMass-Lowell River Hawks swept Vermont at home over the weekend. Smith already has 7 goals on the season and his 14 points are tied for 6th in the nation. Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’12-13) earned his first win of the season, stopping 19 of 20 shots in a 2-1 win against Lake Superior State on Saturday.

NCAA D3: Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’13-14), Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15), and Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) all had big weekends as Adrian College swept Northland. In a 6-2 win Friday, Boyd had a goal and two assists while Dunn scored a goal. The Bulldogs won 5-2 on Saturday, with Bachnak and Dunn scoring goals and Boyd registering three assists. Boyd was named the NCHA “Offensive Player of the Week” for his stat-line.

USHL: Jacob Paganelli (Bruins ’15-16) scored his third goal for Omaha but the Lancers fell to Sioux City, 3-2 on Saturday.
