AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) and the Rochester American clinched a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs with a 4-2 win over Springfield on Saturday. Smith didn’t play in the game but picked up an assist in Friday’s loss to Binghamton and leads the team with 43 points. It’s Rochester’s first playoff berth in four years. Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) got a win on Sunday with 24 saves as Bridgeport topped Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 6-3. McAdam has a win in three of his last four appearances. The Sound Tigers are currently on the outside of the playoff picture, looking in.

NCAA DI: Jade Miller (Bruins ’15-16) is the lone Bruins alum who advances to the Frozen Four as Minnesota-Duluth knocked off Minnesota-State Mankato 3-2 in OT on Friday, and then edged out Air Force on Saturday, 2-1. While Miller was kept off the scoresheet Friday, Ian Scheid (Bruins ‘14-15) scored for Mankato, who held a 2-0 lead in the game, but couldn’t hold it. Miller assisted on Saturday’s game-winner. The Bulldogs will take on Ohio State in St. Paul on Thursday at 5:00 PM in their second consecutive Frozen Four. Providence took down Clarkson in a classic 1-0 battle on Friday, with Josh Wilkins’ (Bruins ’14-15) assisting on the game’s only goal. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) was the tough-luck losing goaltender, stopping 26 of 27 for Clarkson. Providence fell to Notre Dame, 2-1 on Saturday. Notre Dame was there off a 4-3 OT win against Michigan Tech on Friday. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) didn’t register a point in the loss but was in the starting lineup.

USHL: A.J. Drobot (Bruins ’15-17) had a great week with three goals (two Thursday, one Friday) as Fargo crushed Omaha twice, 7-1 and 8-2.
