BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Kielly Leads Nation in Wins

AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) remained close to a point-per-game pace with an assist in the Rochester Americans 5-4 OT loss at Belleville on Saturday. Smith has 11 points in 12 games and the Amerks have a five-game point streak going.

NCAA DI: Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) got his nation-leading his 7th and 8th wins of the season as Clarkson won at Brown, 5-3 and Yale, 4-1. Nico Sturm (Bruins ‘14-15) also pitched in an assist in both games for the Golden Knights. Minnesota-Duluth and Western Michigan exchanged shutouts over the weekend, with Austin Rueschhoff (Bruins ’15-16) netting a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 5-0 Broncos win. Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) also chipped in an assist, his 12th point in 11 games. The Mankato Mavericks put up 13 goals in a sweep at Bemidji State, but Ian Scheid’s (Bruins ’14-15) assist on Friday was the only point recorded by a Bruins alum. In the losing effort on Saturday, as part of a wild 8-6 game, Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) registered a hat trick. Both Niko Hildenbrand (Bruins ’13-14) and Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) scored goals in the same game as UMass-Amherst defeated Providence on Friday, 6-2. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) picked up his 2nd assist of the season in Dartmouth’s 3-2 loss at Colgate on Saturday. Jacob Paganelli (Bruins ’15-16) faced off against Jon Richards (Bruins ’16-17) on Saturday and Princeton topped RPI, 6-2. Paganelli had an assist.

NCAA DIII: Michael Piehler (Bruins ’15-17) had the best of game of his early college career with two goals and an assist in Bethel’s 7-4 loss to Augsburg on Friday. Derek Olmschenk (Bruins ‘14-16) picked up an assist as St. Thomas got a big win over Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday, 5-3.

USHL: Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) picked up his third shutout of the season for the Omaha Lancers, with 29 saves in a blanking of Green Bay. Driscoll got another win on Saturday as Omaha beat the Gamblers again, 5-2. Jake Kucharski (Bruins ’16-17) faced 46 Fargo Force shots on Thursday and stopped 44, helping Des Moines to a 4-2 win.  Kris Carlson (Bruins ’15-16) allowed 5 goals but his team scored 6 and he gained his 3rd win in his last 4 starts as Central Illinois edged Dubuque in OT on Saturday night.
