BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Kielly earns USHL honors

NHL: Christian Folin (Bruins ’10-12) had an assist and was a +2 as the Minnesota Wild won their first game under new interim head coach John Torchetti on Sunday, 5-2 over Vancouver.

ECHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ’10-11) made his debut for the Indy Fuel, stopping 22 of 25 in a 4-3 loss to Missouri on Friday. The Fuel are Asmundson’s third ECHL team this season.

NCAA DI: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) stopped 34 shots for Penn State in a 2-2 tie with Michigan State on Saturday (Penn State won a shootout 1-0 for Big 10 standings purposes). The night before (without McAdam in goal), Brennan Sanford (Bruins ’13-14) assisted on the Spartans’ lone goal in a 6-1 loss.

NCAA DIII: Adrian massacred Concordia by final scores of 12-2 and 6-1 over the weekend. Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) registered 5 assists while Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) and Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’14-15) each had a helper of their own.

USHL: Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) was named USHL goaltender of the week after he stopped 60 of 62 shots in a Tri City sweep of Sioux Falls. Since the start of 2016, Kielly is 9-0-1-0 in 10 starts with a miniscule goals-against-average of 1.86 and a save percentage of .942. Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) had two assists in Friday’s win, bringing his hot streak to 4 goals and 6 assists over his last 12 games. On Sunday, Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) snapped a 5 game point-less streak with 2 assists but Sioux City blew a 2-0 lead and lost to Waterloo, 3-2. Niko Hildenbrand (Bruins ’13-14) continued his strong play for the Fargo Force, adding three assists between a 3-0 home win over Youngstown and Friday and a 4-3 road victory against Omaha on Monday night.
