BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Jade Miller is a National Champion

Apr 11, 2018

AHL: Although he was optioned back to ECHL Worcester, Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) had a strong final month-and-a-half with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, winning five of the nine games he appeared in, with a 2.03 GAA and a .977 SV%. He hopes to get a shot in a more permanent role next season with Bridgeport, who did not make the postseason.

NCAA DI: Jade Miller (Bruins ’15-16) is a National Champion after his Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs took down Notre Dame, 2-1 on Saturday Night at Xcel Energy Center. It was a Cinderella story for the Bulldogs who were runners-up last season and entered the tournament as a #3 seed – an underdog all the way through. Miller assisted on the first goal of the game as Duluth built a 2-0 lead after one. The Fighting Irish got on the board in the second period, but the stout defense and goaltending of the Bulldogs held strong to deliver the program’s second National Championship, and the first since 2011, which also occurred in St. Paul.

USHL: Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) was once again the USHL’s goaltender of the week, shutting out Tri City on Wednesday and Des Moines on Saturday. He turned aside a total of 55 shots in the two wins and ranks second in the USHL with a .933 save percentage and third with a 1.93 GAA. Kyle Looft (Bruins ’16-17) had a big weekend with two goals and an assist in Cedar Rapids’ home-and-home sweep of Sioux City.
