BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Former B’s Faceoff

AHL: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) got his first AHL action of the season, coming on in relief on Friday and stopping all 15 Providence Bruins shots faced in Bridgeport’s 5-3 loss. McAdam then got the starting nod Saturday and turned aside 19 of 21 but got little goal support as the Sound Tigers fell to Charlotte, 2-1.

SPHL: Charlie Adams’ (Bruins ’10-12) had a goal and assist in Pensacola’s 3-1 win at Fayetteville on Saturday and now has 28 points in 27 games.

NCAA DI: Members of the 2015-16 Bruins went head-to-head at Western Michigan this weekend, and Jade Miller’s (Bruins ’14-16) UMD Bulldogs got the best of Dawson DiPietro, Austin Rueschhoff, and the WMU Broncos, winning 8-0 and then 6-1. Friday’s win was Duluth’s third consecutive shutout victory. Miller picked up two assists on Saturday. Johnny Simonson (Bruins ’11-13) continued a strong finish to his college career, scoring on Friday in North Dakota’s 4-3 overtime loss at Miami. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) got on the board with his 4th goal of the season in Dartmouth’s 6-4 win at Yale on Friday. Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) potted the empty netter to seal Clarkson’s 4-2 Saturday win over Quinnipiac, ending an eight-game winless streak for the Golden Knights. Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) stopped 23 to earn the win. In another meeting of former Bruins, Massachusetts topped Providence 1-0 on Saturday. Niko Hildenbrand (Bruins ’13-14) had a helper on the lone goal of the game. Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15) and Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) faced off against Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) as Minnesota State-Mankato and Bemidji State played two tight games over the weekend. The Mavericks claimed a 2-1 win on Friday with Dickman scoring the lone Beavers goal. Scheid assisted on the game winner. The teams skated to a 2-2 tie on Saturday, stopping Mankato’s win streak at 11. Justin Misiak’s (Bruins ’15-17) sixth goal of the season was the game winner as Michigan Tech took down Northern Michigan 3-2 on Saturday.

NCAA DIII: Adrian blasted Lake Forest 9-0 in their first NCHA playoff contest on Saturday with Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’14-15) picking up an assist and Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) grabbing two. Zach Kennedy (Bruins ’14-16) scored his first collegiate goal, the fourth and final one in Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Stout on Friday. Jack Murphy (Bruins ’16-17) also picked up an assist in the win. The Blugolds advance to the WIAC Championship round against Stevens Point this weekend.

USHL: Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) got his 18th win on Saturday, stopping 18 of 19 in Omaha’s 4-1 win at Youngstown. He remains 2nd in the USHL in GAA (1.73). Keaton Pehrson (Bruins ’16-17) scored his third goal of the season as Tri City topped Des Moines, 4-2 on Saturday.
