BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: First collegiate goals and more

The college hockey season is into full swing and more and more former Bruins are getting noticed. In this week's Bruins Alumni Report, a pair of former B's get their first collegiate goals. Meanwhile in the USHL, Bruins alums keep helping the Tri City storm to success.

NCAA: Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) and Brennan Sanford (Bruins ’13-14) each netted their first collegiate goals this past weekend. Jasiek scored on Friday in Darmouth’s 7-3 rout of Brown University. Sanford notched the game winner for Michigan State as they down the University of New Hampshire, 7-4 on Saturday night. C.J. Smith (Bruins ’11-13) had an assist each night as the UMass Lowell Riverhawks swept Vermont, 5-3 and 1-0. Johnny Simonson (Bruins ’11-’13) added an assist in UND’s 3-1 win over Wisconsin on Saturday and now has 6 points in 9 games.

USHL: Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) scored his 4th goal of the season while Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) made 33 saves on 34 shots as Tri City knocked off Cedar Rapids, 4-1 on Friday. Kielly recently announced his commitment to NCAA DI Clarkson University as well.
