BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: DI Bruins Moving on in Playoffs

ECHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ‘10-11) earned his 2nd win as a member of Indy as he made 35 saves on 36 shots in a 2-1 Fuel win over Cincinnati on Sunday,

NCAA DI: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) had two goals and two assists in U-Mass Lowell’s sweep of Boston University in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. Smith had his two helpers in a 3-2 game one victory before netting a pair in a 5-0 shutout win in game two. For his efforts, Smith was named the Hockey East Player of the Week. Next up for the Riverhawks is a meeting with Providence in the Semis this Friday. Johnny Simonson’s (Bruins ’11-13) North Dakota Fighting Hawks are also moving on as they swept Colorado College by 7-1 and 5-1 scores in the NCHC Quarterfinals. Simonson registered one assist on the weekend. UND takes on Minnesota Duluth on Friday. In the ECAC Quarterfinals, Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) helped set up the OT winner in Dartmouth’s 4-3 game one victory over Yale. The Big Green finished the sweep with another one goal win in game two and will take on Quinnipiac in the next round Friday.

NCAA DIII: Jeremy Finger (Bruins ’10-12) registered an assist as U-Mass Boston blanked Trinity in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Beacons head to Hobart (New York) on Saturday for the Quarterfinals.

USHL: Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) had 2 assists in Sioux City’s 5-4 loss at Muskegon on Friday. Scheid announced his commitment to Minnesota State this week, joining Riese Zmolek (committed) and Jason Pawloski on the Mustangs.
