BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Bachnak scores first collegiate goal

NCAA DI: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) picked up his 7th goal of the season for UMass-Lowell in a 4-3 loss @ Connecticut on Saturday. He continues to lead the team with 17 points. Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’12-13) added two more ties to his record as Minnesota State and Bowling Green played to a pair of 2-2 draws. He made 17 saves on Friday and 29 on Saturday. Pawloski is yet to lose a game in his collegiate career, and now has four ties on his record.

NCAA DIII: Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) scored his first collegiate goal on Friday as Adrian rolled over Finlandia, 8-2. Trevor Boyd (Bruins ‘14-15) also had an assist in the win. The two former Bruins would reverse rolls on Saturday with Boyd scoring and Bachnak assisting in an even bigger blowout win for the Bulldogs, 9-1. Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) also picked up two assists on Saturday. Boyd’s 7 goals continues to lead the team.

USHL: Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) scored one of Sioux City’s two goals in a 5-2 loss to the U.S. NTDP on Friday while Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) netted a goal on Saturday as the Musketeers fell 7-4. Trey Dodd (Bruins ’13-15) and Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15) found the back of the net for Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, respectively on Saturday. The Rough Riders defeated Green Bay 3-1 while the Fighting Saints knocked off Waterloo, 7-4. Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) and Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) continued to lead the Tri City Storm as Sturm picked up the game winning goal and Kielly made 31 saves in a 4-3 win over Lincoln on Saturday night.
