BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Another Busy Weekend

AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) had two assists in a busy week for the Rochester Americans, who played three games and went 2-1-0 with two wins against Laval and a loss to Syracuse. Smith remains tied for the team lead with six points.

ECHL: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) returned from injury and made 27 saves but the Worcester Railers fell in overtime 5-4 at the Utah Grizzlies on Friday night.

SPHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ’10-11), started both weekend games for Huntsville at Fayetteville, making 29 saves in a 6-3 win on Friday and 29 more in a 4-2 loss on Saturday. His save percentage sits at .914 through three games for the Havoc.

NCAA DI: Justin Misiak (Bruins ‘15-17) continued the great start to his college career, with a goal on Friday and an assist on Saturday as Michigan Tech was swept at Mankato. In Friday’s game, Ian Scheid (Bruins ’14-15) picked up an assist for the Mavericks. Jade Miller (Bruins ’15-16) scored the game winner on Friday for the UMD Bulldogs, who swept Maine over the weekend by scores of 2-1 and 2-0. Jon Richards (Bruins ’16-17) has three assists over his first four college games, as he had two helpers in RPI’s 4-3 loss at Union on Friday. Princeton won their first game of the season, 4-2 over Holy Cross on Sunday, with Jacob Paganelli (Bruins ’15-16) notching his first collegiate point, an assist. It was a tough weekend for Clarkson, who were swept by the Golden Gophers, but Nico Sturm (Bruins ‘14-15) picked up his fourth assist of the season in Saturday’s 2-1 loss. Providence picked up an impressive sweep of both Boston College and Boston University, with Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) assisting on a goal in Saturday’s 3-0 shutout of BU. Bemidji State edged Ferris State 3-2 in a shootout on Friday with Jay Dickman (Bruins ’12-14) registering his first two assists of the season and scoring the game winner in the shootout. Brennan Sanford’s (Bruins ’13-14) Michigan State Spartans had a big weekend, sweeping Lake Superior State at home, 4-3 and 6-0. Sanford had an assist on Saturday night.

NCAA DIII: Logan Haskins (Bruins ’15-17) and the Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties played a pair of OT games to open their season – a 3-2 overtime loss to Augsburg and a 2-1 shootout win over Concordia. Haskins had an assist on the team’s first goal of the season.

USHL: Kris Carlson (Bruins ’15-16) got his 2nd win of the season on Saturday as Central Illinois beat Waterloo, 5-1. Carlson also played in relief on Friday in the Flying Aces 6-3 loss to Dubuque. Carlson holds a .921 save percentage. Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) had a 25 save shutout for Omaha against Des Moines on Friday and holds a sparkling 2.14 GAA.
