Bruins Alumni Report: Sturm, Kielly lead Clarkson

NHL: Christian Folin (2010-12) scored his first goal since March 19th, 2015 as the Wild routed Montreal, 7-1 on Thursday night. He followed that up with an assist in a 5-4 win over Dallas two nights later.

ECHL: Keegan Asmundson (2010-11) made a sparkling debut for the Kalamazoo Wings, stopping 42 of 43 shots in a 5-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night. The Wings are Asmundson’s fifth different ECHL team.

NCAA DI: Nico Sturm (2014-15, pictured above) had a big game, scoring a pair of goals (his 4th and 5th of the season) in Clarkson’s 7-2 rout of Brown on Saturday. Jake Kielly (2014-15) made 28 stops to earn the win in net. Josh Wilkins (2014-15) had a goal and an assist in Providence’s 4-1 Saturday win over Vermont. Ian Scheid (2014-15) scored his 6th goal of the season on Friday in a 3-2 Mankato overtime loss to Bowling Green. The Mavericks rebounded with a 5-3 win on Saturday, in which Scheid added an assist.

NCAA DIII: The Adrian Bulldogs swept a road series with Lake Forest and as usual, the former Bruins-now Bulldogs were a large part of it. Trevor Boyd (2013-14) totaled three goals and now leads the team with 12 goals and 25 points. Brian Bachnak (2013-15) and Cory Dunn (2013-15) each registered two assists.
