Blizzard Best Bruins

The Austin Bruins hit the road and traveled to Alexandria to face off against the Blizzard for the first time this season. The Bruins got on the board early as Chris Fischer scored his first goal of the season assists went to Chase Macdonald and Nolan Kirley. The Blizzard answered back as Nick Decenzo dented the twine making it a tie hockey game. Decenzo added his second of the contest just moments later, making it a 2-1 Blizzard lead. The Blizzard made it 3-0 when Mike Mooney was set up by Derek Sand. After one period of play the Blizzard had a 3-1 lead. The middle frame Alexandria pumped in another goal this time it was Seth Ronsberg. Through two periods of play the Bruins were outshot 18-27 and trailed 4-1. Alexandria scored their fifth goal of the game courtesy of Casey Purpur .The Bruins could not solve Jake Myers as the Blizzard tender who stopped 29 shots. Tomorrow night the Bruins seek revenge as they will continue the series against the Blizzard in Austin.
