Austin Wins at Home

The Austin Bruins wrapped up play at Riverside Arena this weekend against the Brookings Blizzard.  Brookings took an early lead with a goal from Justin Moody on the Power Play. Austin was able to tie the contest 1-1 with a Power Play goal from John Simonson assisting was Brandon Wahlin and Jay Dickman. At the end of one period of play the score was tied 1-1. The second period Austin took their first lead of the night with a goal from Chris        Fischer assisting was John Simonson and CJ Smith. Brookings was able to come back and tie it at two on an odd man rush. At the end of two periods of play the Bruins and Blizz were tied 2-2. The third period Austin regained their lead with a goal from Grant Eichstadt assisting was Jake Flynn and Jay Dickman. Austin went up two goals with a goal from Brandon Wahlin and Kody Reuter. Brookings cut the lead in half with a goal from Justin Moody. The Bruins were able to hold off the pressure and skate to a 4-3 victory, in front of more than 1300 fans. Austin is back at home next weekend to tangle with the 2nd place Bobcats.
