BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Smith Named All-Star MVP

AHL: C.J. Smith (Bruins ’11-13) was named the MVP of the AHL All-Star Challenge in Utica, NY, scoring three goals and two assists in four games as the North Division captured the tournament. Smith scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over the Pacific Division in the Championship game.

ECHL: Eamon McAdam (Bruins ’10-11) got back-to-back 5-2 wins over the weekend for the Worcester Railers against Quad City. He made 23 saves on 25 shots on Friday, followed by 26/28 on Saturday.

SPHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ’10-11) made 30 saves on 31 shots in a 4-1 road win for Huntsville over the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Saturday night. Asmundson is 11-7-1 with a .908 SV%. For the Ice Flyers on the other side, Charlie Adams (Bruins ’10-12) extended his point streak to 8 and now has 20 points in 20 games

NCAA DI: Clarkson picked up a 4-1 win over Yale on Friday, in which Nico Sturm (Bruins ’14-15) assisted on 3 of the 4 Golden Knight goals. He’s up to 2nd on the team in scoring, with 25 points. Jake Kielly (Bruins 14-15) made 26 saves in the win. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) made it a six-game point streak with an assist in Dartmouth’s 2-1 Friday win over Colgate. Austin Rueschhoff (Bruins ’15-16) and Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) each scored goals, but Western Michigan was swept on the road at Nebraska-Omaha, 6-2 and 7-3. Josh Wilkins (Bruins ’14-15) got an assist in a 4-4 tie against Northeastern on Friday. Justin Misiak (Bruins ’15-17) got an assist for the 10th point of his Freshman season, but Michigan Tech lost twice at Ferris State. Minnesota State-Mankato defeated Team USA 5-3 in an exhibition on Saturday, with Jason Pawloski (Bruins ’12-13) making 14 saves and Riese Zmolek (Bruins ’14-15) picking up an assist.

NCAA DIII: Adrian won their 8th and 9th consecutive games, beating St. Norbert (OT) and Finlandia at home. Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’14-15) totaled two goals and three assists on the weekend while Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) finished with a goal and an assist.

USHL: Zach Driscoll (Bruins ’14-15) racked up yet another USHL Goaltender of the Week honor with a 25 save shutout of Lincoln followed by a 36/37 effort against the Stars the following night. AJ Drobot (Bruins ’15-17) scored in his second straight game for Fargo, finding the net in a Thursday loss to Sioux City.
