BRUINS ALUMNI REPORT: Folin Has a Two Point Week

NHL: Christian Folin (Bruins ’10-12) had a solid week for the Kings with his first assist of the season in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Detroit and then his second goal as L.A. beat the Blackhawks on Sunday, 3-1.

AHL: CJ Smith (Bruins ’11-13) leads the Rochester Americans with 23 points (in 22 games) after registering a goal and three assists in a 5-4 shootout loss to Hartford followed by a 5-2 win against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins. He is almost certainly next in line for a call-up to Buffalo.

SPHL: Keegan Asmundson (Bruins ’10-11) faced 31 shots and stopped 29 as Huntsville defeated Evansville, 3-2 on Saturday night. Asmundson’s record stands at 5-3-0.

NCAA DI: Jake Kielly (Bruins ’14-15) continued his dominance with 24 saves as Clarkson played just once but got a 5-1 road win at Canisius on Saturday. In addition to his 13 wins, his 1.41 GAA is now also tops in the nation. Nico Sturm (Bruins ‘14-15) scored a goal and had an assist in the effort – Clarkson’s ninth win in a row. Alex Jasiek (Bruins ’14-15) had one assist in a weird weekend for Dartmouth, who got blasted by Princeton, 9-2 and then turned around and skated to a 0-0 tie with Quinnipiac. Dawson DiPietro (Bruins ’15-16) and Austin Rueschhoff (Bruins ’15-16) each registered a goal for Western Michigan but they were swept at North Dakota by 4-3 and 4-1 finals. Niko Hildenbrand (Bruins ’13-14) picked up an assist as Massachusetts topped UConn in their only game of the weekend, 4-2. Brennan Sanford (Bruins ’13-14) picked up an assist in Michigan State’s 2-1 loss to Notre Dame on Friday. The Spartans were swept. Jon Richards (Bruins ’16-17) registered his fourth point of the season (all assists) as RPI fell to Brown on Saturday, 5-4 in OT.

NCAA DIII: Adrian remained undefeated as Trevor Boyd (Bruins ’13-14) scored twice and Brian Bachnak (Bruins ’13-15) scored once, with Cory Dunn (Bruins ’13-15) pitching in two assists. The Bulldogs beat St. Scholastica, 4-1 and Northland, 3-0.

USHL: AJ Drobot (Bruins 15-17) had a two-point night with a goal and an assist as Fargo dropped Team USA, 6-1. Drobot now has 3 goals in his last 5 games. Keaton Pehrson (Bruins ’16-17) finally registered his elusive first USHL point – an assist in a 5-2 Tri City win over Madison on Friday.
